Around the bay area and specially near the coast,there are many flower farms and growers.Some of the cities that are often heard for growing flowers around the bay area are Half moon bay,Watsonville,Salinas.Petaluma and Pescadero and of course there are many more.
Some of the grower names that I have become familiar with over the years are Neve Brothers (Very well known at SF flower mart in Petaluma),Repetto Nursery(Half moon bay),Pastorino(Half moon bay),Kitayama brothers(Watsonville),Oku flower farm(Pescadero).Silver Terrace Nursery used to be at the flower mart many years ago and was also in Pescadero,but not at the mart any more.
Also in other parts of California,Sun valley farms is a big grower in Arcata,Ca.Glad-A-way nursery in Santa Maria specialize in growing gladiolas for many years.
Maximum nursery in Carpinteria known for growing gerbera daisies.
In southern california,Oxnard is also a big name for growing flowers.
There is a grower in Aurora Oregon,The Oregon Flower company Owned by Martin and Helene that grows some of the most impressive flowers(Tulips,Lilies...),they are dutch and use dutch genetics and grow some of the nicest flowers.
We grow beautiful roses here in Northern California(Neve roses are quite nice) but also some of the nicest roses come from Ecuador,even after the long travel,their performance is impressive,specially with their large heads and long,thick stems.
