It is a heavenly feeling when you are in a flower garden and as you look at the beautiful flowers you get close to smell them ,and for some folks if it is their favorite scent,they feel light,love and full of beautiful feelings.Well that is my personal experience and I am sure many others.
Nature brings us many gifts,flowers are some of them and well of course scented flowers are very special gifts.
Interestingly enough,as people have favorites with different flowers,they also have favorite scents.
Lets name some of the popular scented flowers.
Tuberoses,freesias,oriental lilies(Casablanca lilies,stargazers....more),peonies,Stock flower,sweet peas,Lilac,Jasmine,Narcissus,Garden roses and of course there is a whole lot more.Amongst the florist roses,the sterling silver roses have a very nice distinct scent.
I personally love the natural scent of the garden roses and is probably my favorite but definitely appreciate the fragrance of many others.
Tulips are beautiful flowers but generally do not have a scent,except for yellow angelique tulips.
I also always like the scent of geranium leaves.
Over the years in this business,I discovered something very interesting.There is a flower that comes around only for a short time in the summer,called Abyssinian Gladiolus
and to me it always had a nice scent and it seemed like most men noticed the scent of it,but most women did not!
Stargazer lilies had a nice scent to many people but some people thought it smelled too mediciny and bothered them.
Freesias smelled ok to me but many people really love their scent.
There are many other flowers with nice scents and then of course there are flowers that have a scent of their own but nothing that anyone would notice,even mums have a scent but really nothing that is noticable.
And then there are those who are allergic to the scent of some flowers or their pollen which can turn into sneezing or teary eyes.
I feel so fortunate to be in a profession that I get to be around beautiful and sweet smelling flowers all the time.
