Time plays a huge role with flowers.As far as delivering the flowers to the recipient,if it is a birthday or anniversary,they should receive the flowers earlier in the day as it is their special day to be enjoyed all day and the flowers should be there with them.
If it is going to their workplace,we need to make sure that it gets to them before they leave work,and sometimes they could leave early.With certain places like schools,the workday ends sooner.
If it is going to a patient in the hospital,you want to deliver as soon as possible before they get discharged.
Delivering to a funeral service,make sure to get there early to avoid the crowd of people so you can get in with your flowers easier.
Delivering to a church,can not go too early as most churches open for the ceremony but could be closed at other times.
In a romantic situation,either side can be anxious,so try to deliver sooner.Surprises are great,but in some situations you need clear communication to make the delivery to the right place and the right person on time,such as apartment buildings with secured entrance or some workplaces with restrictions.
If they are not home,you can feel safe to leave the flowers by their door,just not too exposed to the street if you can help and try to keep out of the weather elements,like sun,draft,rain,etc.In my 32 years never had a problem with someone stealing the flowers!(And trust me they were always beautiful).
Now the other aspect of time that comes to play in the flower business,is with the buds and blossoms that you want them to be fresh but not as such tight buds that all you see is the green.It is great to get them very fresh and tight a few days before the event so they are just blooming and of course some in full bloom for the event for the best show.This part of timing is so so very important in your presentation.Imagine very fresh but completely closed lilies or gladiolas or.....in your arrangement,would make for a very colorless floral arrangement .
Mother nature and father time come together in flower business and it helps to follow their rules for a successful flower business.
After so many years buying,making and selling flowers,I feel like;
Time is on my side...yes it is.
